rigolos
This file has an insane number of pieces, 35032.The > 4 GB torrent seems to be created with piece size = 128 kB, which is way too small...I would guess the function that draws the pieces bar has a problem mapping these 35k pieces to the few available pixels. What happens if you enlarge the pieces column? unbreakable
Thanks, the file downloaded now, and I didnt have the time to check what you said.. but I kept getting hash errors while it was downloading.. it seems that whoever made this torrent did some mistake as you suggest with the number of pieces.. there is no other logical explaination..thank you rigolo for your reply:-)
Switeck
If there were a lot of hash errors, did you check to see if it was organized poisoning or random ips?
unbreakable
switeck.. sorry Im not new to torrents, but I had no idea that someone would be doing organized poisoning..How and why does this occure? The thing I was downloading was a Linux iso that is free called knoppix...I see no reason why someone would try to poison that... Switeck
I don't either...not for Linux stuff. But you never know, the bad companies that are doing this for other files may have "accidentally" added this one by "mistake" due to Microsoft's recommendations. unbreakable
Thanx for the reply.. I would like to ask you another question since you are a moderator.. if you dont know Ill ask somewhere else..I would like a program that will vew the information inside a .torrent file. I have found torrentSpy but that has a very small comment window. See this screenshot to understand:http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/1608/screenshot3jk9.pngI would prefer to see the comments in a big window, since I cant always remember what the .torrents are.do you know of any other program that I can view this information in a better way? thanks
Switeck
Not really, though the .torrent file's comment section may be partially viewable even using a hex editor or text editor.
