coldfire Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 i've searched the forums for my problem and read the faq already. i've tried disabling nod32 and spyware doctor and have even cleaned my registry. i've never had this problem with any p2p client before and my hardware is the same as it was before my reformat. i've tried bitcomet and i have the same problem so it's clearly p2p proggy related...but what exactly i don't know. i've disabled upnp and dht, set low max peer connections, turned off my router firewall, lowered net.max_halfopen and bt.connect_speed to no avail. port forwarding is fine. cpu usage is normal when utorrent is running and all other programs respond normally. can anyone suggest anything?here's some info:utorrent 1.6.1d-link di-524 routeramd athlon 64 3200+1gb ramnod32 and spyware doctor
DreadWingKnight Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 FAQ - Incompatible software. Many packages leave hooks in the OS even when they are "disabled"
coldfire Posted April 6, 2007 Author Report Posted April 6, 2007 and which installed package on my system would be doing this? i've run utorrent with both nod32 and spyware doctor closed/disabled and it behaves the same way. i'm out of ideas here...
DreadWingKnight Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 You need to uninstall NOD and spyware doctor to remove their influence.Disabling them is NOT enough.
coldfire Posted April 7, 2007 Author Report Posted April 7, 2007 wow. it was spyware doctor. i upgraded to the new version after reformat and it totally screwed my torrent clients. thanks for the advice dwk!Edit: can you recommend something that could take sd's place that would'nt lag utorrent?
