just recently i got u torrent and when i complete a torrent it says in the status bar it is sedding. there is a green upward arrow on the download which should mean it is seeding properly. however the upload speed is around about 7kbs but no download what so ever, and the (eta) varies from 12 to 11 minutes and never changes.

At the moment i have 256k internet connection and have set all the settings of my u torrent acorrding to user guides. however i still get shitty speeds around 20kbs. if anyone can help i would most appreciate it.

The 256K you're most likely referring to is measured in Kilobits. The 20KB/s you're referring to later are measured in Kilobytes. Your ISP uses the kilobits measurement simply to make the number seem bigger and more marketable than it actually is.

256 kilobits in kilobytes is 32, so you're actually not that far off of your max there.

I'm wondering if this can be explained. I use a wireless company called SBC Internet Services *actually, the company I go through is called Blacksheep Computer...their website is www.bscn.com* but they go through SBC Internet Services. I have a 384K connection. Lastweek I was download on Utorrent at around close 370kbs, but all of the sudden my speed drops to maybe 5.3kbs if I'm lucky. I can't forward my ports so my ISP has to do it for me as it can only be done from where they are *they are the only ones who knows the password to the satellite that has a built in router and also controls how everyone else connects to their internet*. They forwarded a port for me on Utorrent, but it didn't help my speeds out very much at all...it pretty well stayed the same. Lately it seems like my upload and download speeds have swapped. Lastweek I was downloading at nearly 370kbs and only uploading at maybe 5kbs. Now I'm downloading at 5kbs and uploading at around 100kbs until today. Now I'm getting 2kbs and no upload speeds at all. I've looked through the documentations on configuring Utorrent to my internet bandwidth *by my upload speed* and tried disabling UnPn mapping *cause it never works anyway...always says it couldn't connect*, I'm using Utorrent 1.7 Beta. I've also did the Window XP SP2 Hack by increasing my half_open connections to from 8 to 40 *it's default setting was at 100!!!!!* and configured it in Utorrent. Utorrent says I'm not having any connections problems, but my download and upload speeds are showing otherwise. Even from those test torrents I downloaded from here, I only got speeds around 100kbs, which is alot less than what I was downloading. I have Utorrent report my external IP addy to the trackers instead of my internal which is the static IP. It's what I was told to do since what they was reporting to was my static IP addy. I also have 2 computers connected to the same source of internet by using a network hub. Would i get a faster connection by connecting straight to my PC instead of it going through a network hub and through another PC? I'm open to any suggestions if you have any...b/c I've practically tried anything I could besides hacking into my ISP's satellite/router which would give me a prison sentence....

and also, most torrents say that there 150 seeds and around 300 peers...but I can only connect to maybe 2 out of 150 seeds and maybe 1 out of 300 peers...could this be because of an improper setting? Again, my connection is a 384K Broadband Wireless connection through SBC Internet Services.
