Springbok Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 Hi, I'm new to utorrent and it seems very fast compared to Bitlord.Just one problem, one download stopped at 91.6% - it has 7 peers and is still uploading despite all my efforts.I run windows xp and have loads of memory and disk space.Any help would be very welcome and much appreciated. =)Springbok
DreadWingKnight Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 What is the availability listed for the offending torrent?
Springbok Posted April 13, 2007 Author Report Posted April 13, 2007 Hi, thanks for the speedy reply. The availability varies from 0.977 to 0.391, it has 7 out of 18 peers connected and is uploading at 1.7 kB/s.Still no download activity.
DreadWingKnight Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 When availability isn't greater than your downloaded percentage, you're basically stuck.
Springbok Posted April 13, 2007 Author Report Posted April 13, 2007 Sounds bad! Is there any way I can avoid the same thing happening with future torrents?
BcknBlck25 Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 Yeah this is the same thing I was trying to explain in my post:http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=22393My availability for both torrents I'm downloading are exactly the same as the download percentage. Anyway for me to increase availability? The downloads are 88% and 95%, both almost finished =/
µtorrent-Guest Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 a) download only "legal" content where the rightsowner has an interest to spread the content reliably check fenopy's fakefinder or the torrentpage where you downlaoded the torrent from in the first place. with TPB for example, if the GUI page is gone, you can be 99,9999% be sure something is wrong/fishy with the torrent and you can abandon your download attemps.
Springbok Posted April 13, 2007 Author Report Posted April 13, 2007 Thanks, it sounds a bit beyond my understanding of p2p just now, but I'll keep working on it.Seems all those peers and seeds must only have a part file too, if that's all there is available. Thanks again.
