JLAF5150 Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 Hi, Do you have a router?? If So Go here to PortForward Guide section and see How to setup Port forwarding on your Router:http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm
camcam999333 Posted April 17, 2007 Author Report Posted April 17, 2007 hey forgot to add connect straight to modem and have forwded ports and test says t open.
Switeck Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 New Zealand has some of the worst peering rates of anywhere on the planet. That means you probably have a VERY limited monthly international traffic/bandwidth limit. You may have exceeded it without trying. For µTorrent, run Speed Guide (CTRL+G) and choose the xx/256k setting. That matches your upload bandwidth. You may want to reduce the global connections and connections per torrent maximums, since you probably have a low monthly quota.
camcam999333 Posted April 18, 2007 Author Report Posted April 18, 2007 i have 20 gig monthly max not to worried about going over, setting already on 256k, using ear share on xtra (my old isp) i was getting 350mb tv shows in 2 - 3 hours just wondering if i could get same speed usinf utorreent
µtorrent-Guest Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 if you have set the right uplaodvalue like you say, yes you could get from a technical point with 8MB down those 350 MB files in 2-3 hours. (even in less time probably!)But the problem is your .NZ ISP is very likely throttleing BT traffic. So it's NOT µtorrents fault if you will not. Make of course sure you tick at least as a countermeasure against easy throttleing by ISP the "enable encryption" in µT settings
