Torrent to a tracker site what happens next.

I have a question .

If I create a torrent from a file and upload the torrent to a tracker site what happens next ?

Do I leave the torrent and the file in a directory where I created the torrent?

And how are others able to download it. I don't see anything like the file is being seeded in the utorrent window. I just want to be sure I'm doing this correctly. It just seems to me like I'm missing something.

and aditionally: you must check if µT actually runs the torrent as active and not just stopped (last time I created a torrent, the stopped modus was the default, and I was wondering after 2 hours why the upload was still 0 'till I realised that the torrent was stopped!)
