Use to be fast

Hi

Utorrent was working great yesterday all my downloads were fast it was all under 3hr

but today when I download a torrent the size about yesterday files

it taking forever it like took 4hr

but at the bottom the status light is green...

what is going on?

You are downloading from other people, not websites.

Sometimes they have very bad internet connections...or maybe they set their upload speeds really low.

Or they're running lots of torrents at once, so EACH torrent's upload speed may only be uploading at 1 KiloBYTES/sec each.

So to get the most out of THEM from giant torrents, you need to be giving the most back spread such that you are barely the biggest uploader TO them. This means about 3-10 KiloBYTES/sec upload speed PER upload slot, as many people are only sending out less than 1 KiloBYTE/sec per upload slot/per person. If you're running 2 torrents at once and 4 upload slots each, that means total upload speed gets divided 8 ways...not just 4.

It gets far worse doing 5+ torrents at once with 5+ upload slots each -- in that case, you'd look like a leech (sharing nothing) to nearly everyone even if your total upload speed may be over 100 KiloBYTES/sec!
