need a torrent and client wrapped software.

anyone

first of all, I like utorrent very much, thanks guys for the prefect work!

and my requirement is:

to be honest, most of people dont know what's torrent is, and of course they haven't got any of torrent client software installed. what a nightmare to help them to install a torrent client, and download a torrent file, then starting download with torrent client... they usually didn't know how's going with this, a friend of mine, wanted to download a moive, but he didn't know what's different between the torrent files and the movie files, he told me, "that movie is unbelievable small, that I couldn't open it with my media player!" God, I have to come to his home, and help him hand by hand.

how can we make that "torrent download" easier? not only the professor can worked it out, everyone can enjoy it. as I found the utorrent.exe file is just less than 2M, and torrent file always less than 500K, so I wondering if we have a other way to download?

the thing is: wrap the utorrent and torrent together to make a exe file, so if we'd like to share with someone some torrent, just send them the wrapped exe file, and the things they need to do is just double click the file, choose the save location, and then download... that's all. there is no options, everything is just using default of utorrent, just a download interface like we did with IE or FF, a processing time bar, a cancel button, a title bar, etc. that's all.

if that's possible?

I don't see this happening with µTorrent itself. You can start .torrent files from commandline, pack the executable together with a .torrent file, and start, but what's the point? It's almost guaranteed to be badly configured or unusable unless the person has his/her port forwarded properly, and the proper setting selected in the Speed Guide.

I search on google, finally, I found this:

http://www.bitcomet.com/tools/bitcometlite/index.htm

even it's not available, I checked the chinese version of that (with translate service helping)

http://64.233.179.104/translate_c?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bitcomet.com%2Ftools%2Fbitcometlite%2Findex-zh.htm&langpair=zh-CN%7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF8

I think that's what am talking about.

yes, configuration is very import, whatever use client or not, on that part, we couldn't help users, but, we can still wrap the client(or command line) with the specific torrent, that's will save our we brand for sharing some big soft/movie. and the opint is, that's easier than use client, even we thought utorrent is already did very well on this.

maybe, we can add a command for this on utorrent menu? "create specific torrent wrap?"

cheers.

I'm not seeing how it's easier to use a client that you're gonna need to configure over just using the client, period. µTorrent is only 200KB in size, and it doesn't even really need to be installed. If you don't configure it, and it gets crap speeds (which it most definitely will), then the receiving end of the "wrapped" executable is going to say "this sucks." Is downloading the standalone executable any more difficult than downloading the bundled one? What's more, if you need to send the person another torrent, it's as simple as sending the .torrent file. That's all.

The only time I can imagine bundling the executable working for ease of use is if it can be auto-configured. Which it can't.
