Computer Guru
build 1952 crashes a LOT under Wine.So long as its sitting in the tray, its fine, but when I start opening dialogs, changing entries, etc, all hell breaks loose.I've removed all customizations and skins and settings, no go.cg@Aurora:~$ sudo wine /data/uTorrent/uTorrent.exe Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":1.0".fixme:msvcrt:__lconv_init stubfixme:heap:HeapSetInformation 0x110000 0 0x455ad8 4Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":1.0".fixme:heap:HeapSetInformation 0x4c0000 0 0x455ad8 4fixme:listview:LISTVIEW_SetColumnOrderArray iCount 14 lpiArray 0x33eddcfixme:keyboard:UnregisterHotKey (0x20026,1): stubX Error of failed request: BadPixmap (invalid Pixmap parameter) Major opcode of failed request: 54 (X_FreePixmap) Resource id in failed request: 0x2a01ce8 Serial number of failed request: 90494 Current serial number in output stream: 154608Error begins at "X Error of failed request: ....."Didn't have this happening under previous betas. Ryan Norton
Probably a coincidence, as this is a known wine bug
Ultima
I haven't seen crashes on Wine. Yes, with the latest build.
Firon
Plus, anything that happens on Wine and doesn't happen on Windows is a wine bug.
Computer Guru
Firon: OK, in that case I guess there is nothing I can do.But it does STILL happen, and never did before. Only with this build. Anything to do with dialogs or menus, odds are 3:2 it'll crash. :S
Firon
Have you tried the UPX or unpacked builds?
Computer Guru
No, actually I haven't. I figured so long as it starts packed wouldn't matter - guess that's not the case?EDIT: Testing now.EDIT: UPX is no-go.Testing unpacked now.EDIT: Uncompressed doesn't help either!I don't get it - I had ZERO problems like this on WINE with previous versions!EDIT: Is there some kind of "verbose" mode for WINE that I can enable to see if there is a particular error?Would using Cedega instead make a difference? Ryan Norton
Did you try uninstalling first?
Computer Guru
Uninstalling it?Not sure I follow, I just run the exe...... so I replaced this exe with the UPX and the Uncompressed EXEs.Unless you mean settings.dat? I tried re-creating it from scratch, same effect. Tried removing all custom icons and toolbars, no effect.EDIT:Won't even run at all under Cedega. It asks if I want to install, I press no, it crashes. 100% reproducible.cg@Aurora:~$ sudo cvscedega /data/uTorrent/uTorrent.exe fixme:ver:create_version_reg_entries Need to fill in pre-win2k registry entries for OS versionerr:font:ReadFontDir Can't open directory "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype/"fixme:msvcrt:__lconv_init stubfixme:heap:HeapSetInformation stuberr:task:GetThreadQueue16 Breaking 16 bit for tid 2err:imagelist:ImageList_LoadImageA Error loading image!fixme:ole:CoCreateInstance no classfactory created for CLSID {304ce942-6e39-40d8-943a-b913c40c9cd4}, hres is 0x80040154fixme:heap:HeapSetInformation stubfixme:winsock:WS_bind Setting WS_SO_REUSEADDR on socket before we binding itfixme:winsock:WS_bind Setting WS_SO_REUSEADDR on socket before we binding itfixme:winsock:WS_bind Setting WS_SO_REUSEADDR on socket before we binding itfixme:listview:LISTVIEW_UnsupportedStyles LVS_EDITLABELSerr:imagelist:ImageList_LoadImageA Error loading image!err:imagelist:ImageList_LoadImageA Error loading image!err:x11drv:error_handler BadImplementation (server does not implement operation) error (17) for X request 129 minor 5 serial 4204 from thread 0x00000002X Error of failed request: BadImplementation (server does not implement operation) Major opcode of failed request: 129 (MIT-SHM) Minor opcode of failed request: 5 (X_ShmCreatePixmap) Serial number of failed request: 4204 Current serial number in output stream: 4220err:x11drv:error_handler BadDrawable (invalid Pixmap or Window parameter) error (9) for X request 55 minor 0 serial 4217 from thread 0x00000002X Error of failed request: BadDrawable (invalid Pixmap or Window parameter) Major opcode of failed request: 55 (X_CreateGC) Resource id in failed request: 0x1200393 Serial number of failed request: 4217 Current serial number in output stream: 4220

Computer Guru
Yeah, no difference. It's a GUI thing, that's for sure. It's definitely a WINE-bug, but I'm just wondering why I never saw it before now, and I've been using Wine/Cedega to run uTorrent since thta was first possible... Ultima
Yep, I just tested again on a couple of versions, and they all worked perfectly fine under Wine... It might even be just your Linux install or the Wine build you have for your install :|
Computer Guru
That's the thing though, I haven't changed my linux install or the wine build...I'll test it with 1977 soon as I'm in Linux.
Firon
2132 out if you wanna test with that
Computer Guru
It seems 1977 addressed it, though I didn't throughly test it since 2132 came out so soon. Will test now .... But hopefully its gone. Thanks Firon.

Computer Guru
Damn. Wine still crashes with 2132. Trying 2145 now No go X Error of failed request: BadPixmap (invalid Pixmap parameter) Major opcode of failed request: 54 (X_FreePixmap) Resource id in failed request: 0x300365c Serial number of failed request: 211390 Current serial number in output stream: 211448Again, happens at random, only when dealing with the GUI. Honestly, I can't wait until the Web UI is perfected, that will be such a relief!
Ultima
... 2145 still works here... What version of Wine are you using? I think you should be looking for a fix for your Linux/Wine installation than looking for WebUI to be finished (that can and most likely will take a long time). Yes, it's probably overkill looking for problems because of one application, but it might be a problem that runs deeper than just an issue with µTorrent, after all... Computer Guru
0.9.37Tried compiling my own from GIT as well, same thing.Running kernel 2.6.20.It's only uTorrent, I use GrabIt, eMule, and several other apps 24/7 as well, and none of them does this.
