Mattyfinster Posted May 23, 2007 Report Share Posted May 23, 2007 Hey every1 ive been trying to speed up my downloads for the last month or 2 now and the most common tutorials i find everywhere is the one where you hack the tcp or something.so i download the patch - EvID4226Patchand when i try to open it this message comes up"Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."I've tried a few things like make another account and give it all the permissions and went into the Windows folders properties and took ownership for the user i am on now. and none of them worked.I am looking forward to your reply. thanks. Switeck Posted May 24, 2007 Report Share Posted May 24, 2007 Are you running windows in a power user or administrator mode?(...you about have to, to change network settings!)Also, µTorrent can set what half open connection limit it tries to stay under. So if you're running Win XP SP2 as default of 10, then µTorrent can be set at 4-8 and shouldn't cause any problems. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
