Robert the Bruce
If I'm not in the correct sub-forum then can someone point me in the right direction.Anyway, I wanted to upload all my music video's to U-Torrent so that users could download any of those vid's but when I tried to do this all I created was a file in U-Torrent called 'My Video's' NOT individual video's which was what I wanted. There was also a new file within 'My Video's' folder called 'My Video's' (still with me I hope). I then deleted this file in U Torrent thinking I was deleting the file 'My Video's' within the 'My Video's' folder. But, yes you've guessed it, I deleted all my music video's.Music Video's are not in the re-cycle bin. I also did a system restore but to no avail.I can't seem to find a way to recover my music video's if there even is a way.Anyone any idea's. I'm not to up on computer jargon by the way. DreadWingKnight
http://utorrent.com/guides.phpNow that you've deleted the files, your options are restricted to data recovery software.
Robert the Bruce
When I click on 'files' in U Torrent and then click on the file 'My Video's' I see all the artists and track titles, so they are not completely gone.I clicked on 'remove data and torrent' and thought that ONLY 'My Video's' file within 'My Video's' folder would be deleted, not all my individual video's (which were seperate from this). Is there a way to get them back ?
DreadWingKnight
Data recovery software.
Robert the Bruce
Yes I see, but is this the ONLY way. Bear in mind the artists/titles are THERE in U Torrent when I click on files then 'My Video's' which says it's downloading but isn't, shows infinity symbol. DreadWingKnight
Once the data is deleted, the files are gone and the ONLY way to get them back is data recovery software.
Robert the Bruce
If the files are gone what am I seeing when I click on 'files' in U Torrent and then right-click the 'My Video's' torrent ? As I said ALL the artists names and song titles that were 'deleted' are there.
DreadWingKnight
BitTorrent is not a traditional p2p network.http://utorrent.com/beginners-guide.php
Robert the Bruce
Maybe there is a misunderstanding here or maybe I'm a wee bit dim (or a bit of both) but I don't see anything in your last post that relates to my last post.If the files are gone, how am I able to SEE THEM ? The files are THERE, in U Torrent, they are now part of a torrent instead of mpg, mpeg, avi files etc. One collection (or file) of video's instead of individual video's. Smoovious
DUDE!!!YOU DELETED THEM!!!YOU NEED DATA RECOVERY SOFTWARE AND THE LONGER YOU WAIT AND THE MORE YOU USE YOUR COMPUTER THE LESS CHANCE YOU'LL HAVE OF GETTING THEM BACK!!!So go get some data recovery software and use it already...You aren't seeing the files in µTorrent... you're seeing the files' ENTRIES...When you used 'Remove torrent + data', you deleted your files... your files are the 'data'...ps> .torrents aren't for amateurs/novices... once you get your files back, perhaps you should learn more about what .torrents are, and BitTorrent in general, before you try offering up your own files again. Until you know more about what you're doing, stick to downloading .torrents from the index sites and seeding back for a while and figure out how things work in the process.-- Smoovious
