Prosecuted Hamburger Posted May 23, 2007 Report Posted May 23, 2007 I am trying to get rid of everything because I screwed up some settings in it and want to start from scratch. However, the problem I am having is after I re-install it, the original settings were still saved on my computer and the new installation keeps booting up with the old uninstalled settings. How do I get rid of those Saved settings so I can start from scratch?
Invy Posted May 23, 2007 Report Posted May 23, 2007 Go to My Computer, and in the address bar type in %AppData%\uTorrent. In this folder, delete settings.dat and settings.dat.old.I believe it will also reset your statistics in utorrent, as it may be tied to settings.dat.
Ryan Norton Posted May 23, 2007 Report Posted May 23, 2007 In 1.7 you can just uninstall it from add/remove programs as well - that will get rid of everything...
Ultima Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 Just clarify things... /UNINSTALL axes the entire settings directory, right? Does the command line option also work if it was never installed to begin with?
Ryan Norton Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 Yep - if for some reason it is so bugged that /UNINSTALL doesn't work, you can pass /UNINSTALL /S and that won't even ask you to uninstall it or fork into a temp directory.
