baggio7 Posted May 23, 2007 Report Share Posted May 23, 2007 hi guys, i just got myself a linksys wrt54g ver.8 router and i have the latest firmware on it but i have problems. i keep losing connection to the internet and i saw in the FAQ section that there are problems with linksys routers. in the faq on page http://utorrent.com/faq.php#Special_note_for_users_with_Linksys_WRT54G_GL_GS_routersit says: "The following note does NOT apply to WRT54G/GS v5/v6/v7s" did they forget to put v8 or do you have to use an alternative firmware like it says to do for earlier models?what should i do??i'm using winXP and my max connection on utorrent is set to 200.thanks! Ultima Posted May 24, 2007 Report Share Posted May 24, 2007 Other than trying the latest official firmware from Linksys (if there even is one), there isn't anything you can really do about a v8 at the moment, as third-party firmwares don't work with it. baggio7 Posted May 24, 2007 Author Report Share Posted May 24, 2007 whats the difference between the wrt54g and the wrt54gl? they dont sell the wrt54gl at best buy in montreal canada. they only have the wrt54gs which is the wireless g with speed booster. should i get that one?
