Computer Guru
If you're using EXT3FS from Windows as the directory that uTorrent writes its settings to, for some odd reason it'll fail to delete the old settings.dat and resume.dat files when it creates the .old and replaces the other one.Basically, it tries to rename. the *.new as *, but * still exists.I know this is NOT a uTorrent bug per say, but can you please add a line that checks if * exists before rename *.new as *Thanks! DreadWingKnight
EXT3 is not a windows native filesystem. The check may still be valid, but EXT3 support on windows is somewhat limited.
Computer Guru
I know All I'm saying is, instead of relying the Windows API's createfile function and setting it to overwrite, would it be possible to first delete the file - if it exists - then proceed to create the new one. Firon
No. If it works with native filesystems and not EXT3, then the problem lies with your EXT3 driver. Fix the driver.
Computer Guru
Thanks.(I already know that, that's why this is a feature request and not a bug report.)
DreadWingKnight
File it as a bug report in the filesystem driver's bugtracker.
Ultima
Fixing the bug is *always* what you're supposed to do, not hack your way around the problem.
