hoekstra71
Hi,I have been a great fan of Utorrent for a long time.I have recently installed windows vista and have used the 1.7 1952 beta with no problems at all for two weeks.Today, for some reason Utorrent did not load.At first I said - no problem and just killed the process trying to load it again. Not working. The process shows between 85 to 97% CPU usage. Simply stuck.I have reboot my computer 5 times - no luck.Uninstalled Utorrent and reinstalled the beta. No luck.Uninstalled and installed the official release. No Luck.Installed the beta to a different hard drive. No luck.Ran it as an administrator. No luck.Disabled the Vista Firewall. No Luck.Disabled Kasperski. No Luck.Diabled both. No Luck.My computer runs perfectly. Checked for viruses and found none. No trojans either. All drivers up to date. All vista updates - nice and clean. I haven't installed any new programs lately. All programs run great. Pretty clean install. UTORRENT - one of my all time favorites simply WILL NOT RUN. This is really bad news. What can I do??? DreadWingKnight
Disabled Kasperski. No Luck.Did you try uninstalling it?Disabling isn't enough to remove the hooks it places in the OS.
Teerex
I really am puzzled. It works great on my machine, over a wireless router. The only visible difference is that I have Norton Internet Security, which, FEveryone'sI, allowed µTorrent without even popping a popup. )
hoekstra71
Well, no I didn't unistall Kaspersky - since It's been running alongside since the first day I installed vista. Ran with Utorrent like a charm.Do you really think I should uninstall Kaspersky - Kaspersky is one of the more popular AV programs. I'm just running the AV - not the Firewall.
