lysp
After downloading a tv series for example, all the files are named in scene release format.eg.TV.Show.S1E01.PROPER.PDTV.XVid.Bob.aviTV.Show.S1E02.PROPER.PDTV.XVid.Bob.aviTV.Show.S1E03.PROPER.PDTV.XVid.Bob.aviI prefer my files being named differently.eg.TV Show - 101 - Episode one name.aviTV Show - 102 - Episode two name.aviTV Show - 103 - Episode three name.aviThe problem is if i rename the files i can no longer seed the torrent. It would be nice if there was a feature that let you remap the torrents names to the new names on the disk, which would let me leave the torrent seeding instead of cancelling it. Basically something that uses the crc/checksum of the file rather than the physical name.Is it possible to allow this filename mapping on a future torrent? jewelisheaven
To help those looking for it the 1.8 ßeta threadTo evaluate the renamed file feature, click a torrent, go to files tab, click on column headers enable destination, right click on a specific file, then browse to different path. Aside from not renaming the filenames in the torrent, this also allows spanned sets of files in a torrent
lysp
Just a quick query.. i finally decided to check up on this.. and found the instructions above.Has this now been removed again from the beta? Because i cant find the option.
jewelisheaven
Stop the torrent, go to Files tab, right click, relocate. In the latest you no longer need to open a specific files dialog when you select multiple files, only a directory. So this may mean you either 1) do them individually, or 2) do all the ones to each FOLDER you look for them in, and then right click relocate each file to be sure IT is named correctly. dalembertian
Hello,I've tried the steps outlined above, but unless I'm doing something wrong, it doesn't seem to work - I've stopped the torrent, but after relocating each file of the directory (because I have renamed them) and resuming the torrent, uTorrent starts to download the original files again.Am I doing something wrong? I'm using 1.8.Thanks in advance,Rubens
thelittlefire
You will need to right click, force recheck after performing the Relocate option That should get you back to where you should be (100%)Edit: A tidbit which may also be useful, when doing relocate, you can do multiple simultaneously if you highlight them with either Shift- or Ctrl- click and RELOCATE. The box pops up for the next file right after you click OK on the preceding file.
dalembertian
Thanks for the reply!'Force Recheck' seems to have done the trick in terms of avoiding the download of the old-named files again. But it *did* downlaod the content anyway, that is, overwritting the (renamed) files. For some reason it seems uTorrent does not recognize the content I already had. Also, I couldn't reproduce what you have described - I had to relocate file by file, right-clicking each one individually...Thanks again,Rubens
thelittlefire
It worked for me... what you should be able to do is only highlight everything once, then use the relocate menu function and it should pop up all the dialogs seqentially. As far as it not rechecking the files.. Is it possible the files aren't the same? I.E. they're not the same size (first indicator) and not from the same place (many times files are given "tags" where they came from). The next time (or if you don't mind on these files again) you do that, don't start it between. I know sometimes that causes troubles.
