native4
OK been using utorrent for a long time never ever had any issues but something has happened just recently that has me stumped.I have been ripping some music to mp3, saved to folder with m3u & nfo.... created my torrent/s uploaded -connectable-open containing folder, all there-still showing 100%... peers connected d/l begins then after a while they drop off & message me saying they can't connect. When I stop and force recheck the torrent shows less than 100% e.g. 87.3% Looking at files in utorrent can see three files with missing data but if I right click on these files & play it will work 100% with no loss of data. Before uploading I rip & listen to cd all the way through data is all there.I upgraded to 1.6.1 then uninstalled / cleaned registry & installed ut 1.7B created torrent & same thing occured BUT it is intermittent doesn't happen to all torrents...--------------------------------------------------dudei'm still having problems downloading your ##### ##### music torrent. it appears my utorrent is banning your IP address for bad data.[21:40:18] Unbanned ###.###.###.##:4###0[21:40:26] *** ####################: PIECE 525 FAILED HASH CHECK[21:40:26] Banned ###.###.###.##[21:42:53] Unbanned ###.###.###.##:4###0[21:43:01] *** ####################: PIECE 525 FAILED HASH CHECK[21:43:01] Banned ###.###.###.##the ban is only temporary and comes and goes so torrent may download in the end but it will take a long time.--------------------------------------------------dudestill getting errors.[21:51:49] *** ####################: PIECE 688 FAILED HASH CHECK[21:52:03] *** ####################: PIECE 688 FAILED HASH CHECK[21:52:19] *** ####################: PIECE 688 FAILED HASH CHECK[21:52:34] *** ####################: PIECE 688 FAILED HASH CHECK[21:52:50] *** ####################: PIECE 688 FAILED HASH CHECK[21:53:06] *** ####################: PIECE 688 FAILED HASH CHECK[21:53:06] Banned ###.###.###.##sorry, but i am giving up on the d/l. ---------------------------------------------------I have deleted & recreated torrents several times but still getting same issues, have been creating torrents for a long time & never experienced this before???????Please hoping someone can tell me why utorrent saying I have data missing when initially showing 100% really can't have this happening & informed admin on my site that I will not upload anymore until this is sorted........I have also had to replace my wireless router recently now using D-Link DI-624SEverything shows connectable after port forwarding......WTF HEEEEELP
Switeck
You have "music" software editing the MP3 tags of your audio and video files.Music player software such as WinAmp and even Microsoft's Media Player can and WILL do this unless you disable those "features". chillybean
I'm having the same problem. Thought I had it fixed but I was wrong. I posted this on another forum:After one sucessful video upload I tried another. Everyone got stuck at 99.2%, but some leechers reported that the video would play to the end (in VLC Player). A forced recheck showed the file at 99.2% - missing pieces. Another recheck showed 98.8%, #3 showed 99.5%. I stopped and deleted the torrent from my computer and recreated it. A forced recheck showed the new file as incomplete.I did a memory test from the boot disc - all OK. Scanned both discs, defragged again, and tested with Everest. Memory is OK, Discs are OK. CPU failed consistantly. Disabled hyperthreading and the CPU tests OK. Left hyperthreading disabled.Recreated the torrent, forced a recheck - it's missing pieces. A total of 7 forced rechecks shows the following: 98.8%, 99.3%, 99.5%, 98.7%, 99.2%, 99.0%, 98.5%. The missing pieces are not consistant - different pieces are missing in almost every check. I make a folder for each torrent. I have learned to make the files read-only and I do not even look at those files once the torrent is created. I even tried storing the files and creating the torrent on a different drive but nothing has worked - it's missing pieces as soon as it's created. Any ideas? Someone mentioned a background program, but I'm not aware of any - that doesn't mean there isn't one, perhaps some type of player that continuously indexes? Could it be the file encoding? Could it be the uTorrent software, maybe a reinstall is in order? I have version 1.6, build 474.I'm hoping for a simple answer, but expecting worse... Switeck
Get Process Explorer and post a list of running processes.
chillybean
Thanks. This is what's running. CA is a revamped ZoneAlarm. Could a virus utility running in real-time cause this? Switeck
What and where is the "MFT size"?Yes, a virus running realtime COULD cause these problems...so too could ram going bad, a hard drive going bad, or spyware. Or just some Media Player program insisting on editing the MP3 tags of all your .MP3, .AVI, and .MPG files.I checked these entries in your loaded files list using GOOGLE:QBDAGE~1.EXE 2476 QBDAgent ModuleSome malware camouflage themselves as QBDAgent.exe, particularly if they are located in c:\windows or c:\windows\system32 folder.AXLBRI~1.EXE 4000 AXLBridge Module Intuit, Inc.axlbridge.exe is a process belonging to Intuit QuickBooks. This program is a non-essential process, but should not be terminated unless suspected to be causing problems....So you can try closing that exe using Process Explorer and retrying µTorrent without it present.photoshopelementsfileagent.exe is a process belonging to Adobe Photoshop Elements, a popular graphics rendering tool. This program is a non-essential process, but should not be terminated unless suspected to be causing problems.carpserv.exe 220 carpserv Conexant Systems, Inc.carpserv.exe is installed alongside Zoltrix and Conexant modems and enables the internal modem speaker, which allows you to listen to the dial-up process. This is a non-essential process. Disabling or enabling it is down to user preference.Comes preinstalled with many laptops. It's not something to worry about, but since most people don't use modems anymore, your best bet would be to at least remove it from your startup through msconfig. Also used in some cheap Conexant based internal PCI modems (e.g. Zonet, etc.) to reduce modem cost by eliminating modem speaker and enabling the PC's sound card to play dial-up sounds.instead. Not essential if you don't need to listen to dialing and handshake tones.
chillybean
MFT = Master File Tablehttp://www.pcguide.com/ref/hdd/file/ntfs/archMFT-c.htmlI had previously defragged the drives, but not the MFTs. I had to physically change the MFT size (allocation?) on the second drive. I probably should have known this.I also thought it might be failing memory or possibly a disk, but everything passed the tests. I do have to disable hyperthreading for some programs. I should say "set affinity" to one CPU or they'll freeze.Quickbooks was running when I printed the process list. I was supposed to be working...I do appreciate your time and attention. Switeck
Do you actually still use a dial-up modem?
chillybean
No, I have DSL. I'll need it if I ever move more than 3 miles from the central office though. DSL doesn't go out into the country.
Switeck
Can you go into MSCONFIG and uncheck carpserv.exe from loading on boot-up?Just by re-running MSCONFIG and rechecking carpserv.exe should make the dial-up modem work again.µTorrent sometimes gets confused by multiple networking devices. ConsoleKing
I had the same problem as you, I found it was down to a bad stick of corsair ram. Once replaced the hash check stayed at 100% and peers didn't drop.
native4
I have found the problem in my case it was mail washer pro affecting uTorrent and the times before that would have probably been any one of numerous software programs I've had on computer.I ended the MWPro process did a force re-check of same torrent with dropped % and it has come back to 100% Fricken HOORAYIt has taken ages to find a connection between the software as it is not consistently affecting torrents when the SAME software has been used. But today I got it (cries with joy)
