flacseeds
I am currently using 1.6.1 beta, happily I might add. However, I am getting flak from my isp (small local wireless) for my bandwidth use increasing latency in the network.I am considering upgrading to 1.7 for the automatic bandwidth feature alone.I've scoured the forums and also looked at the latest user .chm file, but theres not many details on this feature.my questions:1. does it work? will it allow me maximum speeds while still keeping network latency low?2. is it tweakable/adjustable in any way?3. what is a good stable build of 1.7 that has this feature in its best working state? I dont see any changes to this feature after build 1875thanks!
Ultima
http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=244828#p244828There haven't been many changes because it works pretty well as it is.
flacseeds
ok, so whats the most stable version with this feature, then?i just dl'd 1.7 2228, and the bandwidth control is out of control. It is totally ignoring my download speed limit. scheduled upload speed limit is being followed however. What I need:I need this client to respect my manual down/up limits when the scheduler is set to limited, and then use automatic upload limits when scheduler is set to 'full speed'. Is this possible?also, where are you seeing this info:[11:53:09] Uplink limit auto adjusted to 8.95 kB/s[11:54:09] Uplink limit auto adjusted to 7.66 kB/s[11:55:09] Uplink limit auto adjusted to 5.48 kB/s[11:56:09] Uplink limit auto adjusted to 7.25 kB/s[11:57:09] Uplink limit auto adjusted to 18.3 kB/s[11:58:09] Uplink limit auto adjusted to 43.9 kB/s[11:58:58] UPnP: Port 53268 is already mapped. Not re-mapping.[11:59:09] Uplink limit auto adjusted to 11.5 kB/s[12:00:09] Uplink limit auto adjusted to 32.0 kB/s[12:01:09] Uplink limit auto adjusted to 52.3 kB/s[12:02:09] Uplink limit auto adjusted to 55.4 kB/s[12:03:09] Uplink limit auto adjusted to 50.4 kB/s[12:04:09] Uplink limit auto adjusted to 54.7 kB/s[12:05:09] Uplink limit auto adjusted to 51.8 kB/s[12:06:09] Uplink limit auto adjusted to 55.7 kB/sis there some sort of logfile? Ultima
2248 fixed the download rate limiting. And no, there isn't a log file -- it's just a logger. You're free to log it to a file though via the context menu options in the Logger tab. The Scheduler *does* override the auto-uplink throttling. mrUicro
If someone does not mind replying I will learn from it. - How does this user's use of bandwidth cause latency increases within the network? Is it because the network is so very small , ie 5 people , that this user is using nearly all of the download bandwidth? If not I'll learn if you tell. thank youAndre-----
Ultima
It's because the network can't handle the bandwidth usage. If bandwidth usage increases while the network can't handle it, then it'll slow down the connection's response time, thus increasing the latency.
