galen Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 I recently installed Vista and bought a new router, a WRT54Gv8. Right now my internet, when running utorrent, is so slow it's unusable. I found that there is a problem with my router but none of the firmware to fix the problem is compatible with my version. Anyone have any suggestions? Ive applied the max connections patch successfuly (so it says). OS: vistaISP: Comcast cableStatus: GreenPort: Fwding FineTest: 6373 down, 99 upAny suggestions are appreciated
Firon Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 There's not much you can do. Set net.max_halfopen to 8, keep connections low, keep DHT off.
Switeck Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 Actually, with Vista you may need to set net.max_halfopen as low as 1 or 2!(...Until you patch Vista's half open limit that is.)
galen Posted June 1, 2007 Author Report Posted June 1, 2007 I got home today and suddenly my network runs fine with utorrent running. We had a power outage today for a couple, maybe my router just needed a reset? who knows.thanks for your help still =]
