This just started after 6 months of use:

I have "DHT: waiting to log in" or "DHT:0 nodes (login) w/green dot and white check mark. DHT status is always : waiting to announce". Tried many torrents with no change. Update does not work. Have reinstalled U torrent 1.6.1 twice.

1> UDP Traffic needs to be allowed in firewalls for DHT to function.

2> (If DHT has worked before) Try adding torrents from http://opensource.depthstrike.com/?category=utorrent so that different DHT bootstrap (login) information can be tried.

3> Shut down uT, Remove dht.dat and dht.dat.old from %appdata%\utorrent and retry step

hey guys,

i had the same problem of dht showing 0 nodes....i just installed the new beta utorrent 1.7....and the problem was solved...
