Slippery Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 Logging does not new detection to wan or that it opened a designated port and external ip address.--update. I just read release notes. That was moved to error/verbose? Pls explain. I need it where visible because thats the first thing I look for is open port and detection. I have it set for upnp. Sometimes it has trouble opening port and I have to refresh my router or release/renew.
Ultima Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 What do you want explained...? It was changed into a verbose message, meaning that it is only shown when you have Verbose checked in the Logger tab's context menu...
Slippery Posted June 6, 2007 Author Report Posted June 6, 2007 thanks. I didn't read the release notes until after I noticed it didn't report port opening in the log. I was not clear on how to get it to show up. I thought it was a bug. Thank you.PS. why was it moved? I don't need the whole verbose log, just something simple showing it opened the port ok. Does it notify if the port isn't opened?
Ultima Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 It was moved because someone requested that it be moved. IMHO, this is one of the big reasons why more granular control over what's displayed in the Logger tab should be implemented (which I've requested before).
Slippery Posted June 7, 2007 Author Report Posted June 7, 2007 Ok well I would like to request that it be moved back. It just takes one person for such a change?
Ultima Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 You can't please everyone. It wasn't just because one person requested it. It was because the devs agreed that it should be moved. This whole thing isn't gonna become a tug of war of "oh I want it on by default" and "oh I don't want it on by default." Seeing as how the devs agreed, you're just going to have to deal with it, at least until the devs (maybe) implement a way to select which messages are shown in the logger tab.
