gblade
For some reason when i start a torrent everything seems to work well, download and upload properly. When the torrent finishes downloading it stops uploading though. I might be doing something dumb, but i cant figure this out. How can i make it keep uploading after the download completes? Switeck
I don't think ComCast ISP prevents BitTorrent seeding, as I'm on it and don't have that problem.HOWEVER, ComCast may be doing that in areas that are overloaded (oversubscribed is the true word).Barring that, you may have given torrents too low a seed while condition under the QUEUEING option in Preferences. You can try this slow speed troubleshooting guide as well, but I cannot promise much from the results:http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=15992
gblade
After a lot of trial and error I figured out the problem. It has nothing to do with utorrent. It has to do with the number of seeders vs. the number of peers. If 2000 people are seeding a file that only 20 are downloading the tracker will do a round robin of the seeders and use each one for a certain amount of time and then move on. The reason the upload stops when the download stops is because you are being put on the tail of the queue, thus being the furthest person away from being used as a seed you have to wait for everyone else to connect and seed first, which is a while when you have ~2000 seeds and only 20 peers. Hopefully this helps others as well. I know I'm not the only one to have this problem.
