zazzy Posted June 8, 2007 Report Posted June 8, 2007 I'm sorry for my poor English first, Gentlemen, or should I say better guys, I have been using BitComet, but now I am uTorrent user and fan. There is something I would like to say. May be I don't know how to do this, but in BitComet when I right click on a task and choose "Properties", it showes me the files included in the task an I can enable or disable sharing some (any) files. I mean if want to download 3 from 5 files I can do it with single unchecking the appropriate checkbox. I can do it in uTorrent too, bot only once in the begining. When I start to share, there is nothing I can do any more, except starting over again. For example I download a .torrent file, make my choice what exactly I want to download and share and that is all. Nothing wrong with this, but if I change my mind and I want to stop (or start) some files I can't do it. If it is possible, but I don't know how to do this, pease explain to me, if not may be you should include this option in your application.Best RegardsZarko Nanev, Sofia, Bulgaria.
tjobo Posted June 8, 2007 Report Posted June 8, 2007 You can.Go to the Tab called Files. Then right-click on the file(s) you want to stop and select "Don't download".Normal priority means "Start download"If it has already started to download you can delete it manually, after you have stopped it.
zazzy Posted June 9, 2007 Author Report Posted June 9, 2007 That solves the problem. Thank you.Another problem, unfortunately rather big then previous is why uTorrent slows my machine? Please, don't let me be misunderstood. It happened months ago. I was forced to reinstall everything and disable windows updates and I think that the problem has gone. But after a month or two something happend (I don't know what exactly), but when I'm UPLOADING with speed more then 100 KB/sec my machine starts to behave like 486 with 4 MB RAM. When I'm downloading with speed more then 2 MB/sec the same thing happens. My machine is fast enough to do this job without any trouble (and she did), but know everything is changed. I watched every process running, and I did't find any new or unusual, but obviously it is a virus that NOD32 detected, but the damage has been done. It was: Time Module Object Name Threat Action User Information25.5.2007 ã. 22:25:00 IMON archive http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/puppylinux/pet_packages-2/sockspy-2.5.pet Win32/NetTool.SockSpy application Connection terminated ZARKO\Zazzy I am not so good to understand how if I download linux filles (in Windows of course) this can damage uTorrent. But this is the only virus that NOD32 detected (and has been deleted immеdately). If it is worth to developers I can send copy of my registry.Best Regards.ZarkoP.S.25 years ago a friend of mine said to me - don't mind about the machine. If you want to have the sum of the first 1000 numbers she will do it by single loopp=0for i = 1 to 1000p =p+inext?iBut I told him - Why shuldn't I sayi = 1000i = (1 + 1000)*500?iThe machine behaves better if you treat her good.P.P.S.In English everything except people is "it", but a ship "she", and I like to call my machine "she".In Bulgarian everythig has gender.
Ultima Posted June 10, 2007 Report Posted June 10, 2007 Get Process Explorer from sysinternals.com, run it, File > Save, then post the contents of the saved process list in the .txt file here.
