Charaille
Hi -I recently had cable installed, but there seems to be a problem. No matter what I try, I cannot get any incoming connections with utorrent. I don't have a router, so I can't see why my ports would be closed, but...argh. I've read through the FAQ, the stickies, and did a forum search, but I can't seem to find a solution to my problem. I also tried patching the tcpip.sys and fowarding ports through the built in firewall. I have a motorola surfboard, but according to ipconfig, I should be fine.-The network status light is yellow- Port checker: "Error! Port 43341 does not appear to be open."-Speed guide: xx/384k-Windows Vista Home Premium-I'm using AVG Free, the built-in firewall, windows defender, adaware, and spybot.- Motorola SB5100. Not using any routers.-Americable Japan (wasn't reported as being a bad ISP...)- 10 mps is the reported speed. A Beltronica reports 391.92 d/l kbps and 222.08 u/l kbps. However, with an earlier torrent, I was downloading at about 1.1 MBps and uploading at roughly 27 KBps.Any help would be very much appreciated! Knowing my luck, it's something very obvious, and I just missed it...
Switeck
A distant speed test server won't reveal what your connection can do...it will always be low.
