aravindkool Posted June 11, 2007 Report Share Posted June 11, 2007 hello,i changed my isp few days back .earlier my u torrent was fine ,but now ,its getting port error .I tried to port forward but myn is a modem and my modem isnt in the portforward list .how shall i do it now??? are there any portforwarding methods if so, please explain in detail. Lord Alderaan Posted June 12, 2007 Report Share Posted June 12, 2007 You only need to port forward if there is a router. I think your ISP is blocking the port. Try some other ports.You could also just call them and ask about it. You don't even have to tell them you want to use BitTorrent. You need open ports for (hosting) some multiplayer/online games, a web server, an email server, a ftp server (to access your home files from work) all of which could be used as an 'excuse' to ask your ISP to open all or a specific port.Also sometimes modems have router functionality too. What IP do you see on your computer when you type ipconfig in a dos box (Start Menu -=> Run -=> cmd [enter] -=> ipconfig [enter] ) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
