Sarreq Teryx
This has been going on since around build 1167 (at least, that's when I fist noticed it anyway). When a file completes, even if the entire torrent is complete or not, it should be written out to a usable file, right? well, that's not happening consistently unless the entire torrent completes, sometimes they stay in the .ut! and are jumbled messes, sometimes what is written out is a ~uTorrentPartFile_#########.dat file. It makes downloading a partial torrent practically impossible.I don't know if maybe it has to do with the program that created the torrent or not, but here's that info: 3/19/2007 1:18:33 AM by uTorrent/1600edit: I just notice a slight pattern, it seems that the pre-2585 builds were forgetting to write out the completed files from the .ut! files and 2585 is forgetting to write out anything from the ~uTorrentPartFile_#########.dat file, is that helpful any? Firon
This partfile bug is old, rare and something that we've never been able to reproduce.
Ultima
http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=14699This is probably the most detailed thread of all the other (few) threads about this problem. I've still yet to see a solution, though makeitso's procedure seems to be a plausible explanation (as I said to him). Anyhow, check out that thread and also post a copy of your process list to see if there's anything in common.
