Hestabbedbasil
After wrestling with this demonic WRT54G for the better part of six months, I'm ready to call it quits. I've invested more time into getting this thing working that I ever thought I'd have to, for anything. So, with that in mind, what's a good router to pick up? Something reasonably cheap, but still functional. Also, if this is the wrong forum for this kind of thing, all apologies.
Terence
Just look at the label at the bottom of your WRT54G router to see what version it is.If it is v1-v4 (the Linux ones), then there is hope. In fact, you should be happy because it can be turned into one of the best routers for BT by simply installing a 3rd party firmware and some minor configurations. However, if it is v5 or above, you are probably screwed.
Honeyfrog
Upgrade to 1.7b1585; if your peer counts go from about a dozen to about seventy in active torrents, you won't give a rip about not being port-forwarded.
Hestabbedbasil
Sadly, it's a version 6 router, which I've come to find out means that it's an unworkable POS that should be used as an ashtray.
