Spector Posted June 27, 2007 Report Posted June 27, 2007 I have read a number of site and can't get my head around how torrents work exacatly. My my question is what when i pick any torrent does it not download until late at night. I pick one with 165 seeds and 97 peers and get, (0)165, (0)97. I'm in the UK so initally thought it was due to seeds being in America and not online, but then surely they wouldn't show as a seed.I have unblocked ports and all sorts as per many posting but i do get the torrent. Just not right any???Ta,S
DreadWingKnight Posted June 27, 2007 Report Posted June 27, 2007 Your ISP is known to interfere with bittorrent traffic.
Spector Posted June 28, 2007 Author Report Posted June 28, 2007 I thought encrypting it should get round that?
DreadWingKnight Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 They use other methods to detect that it's BitTorrent traffic.
Firon Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 It'll be tweaked for 1.8 most likely, but it can only do so much.
Lord Alderaan Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Protocol Encryption is a feeble attempt. It won't help in most cases. Just a few.(Not saying PE is bad. It works for some people and that is what counts.)
