Ultima
You're double-NATed. Your gateway is also known as a router, and so is your Linksys. In short, you either need to forward your ports from the further router to the closer router, or you need to set one of them to bridge mode, or remove one of the routers entirely. For more details, check the advanced port forwarding guide in the manual in the third link in my signature.Signature is ---. \/
withremote
I can not remove the gateway, the fiber line from the street is wired into it in my garage. I need the wireless to hit the network though out the house. I just switched the incoming cat 5 from the gateway to router from the WAN to the UPLINK. Prior to that i switched the router from "Gateway" to "Router" in the dynamic routing setting.....I thought i'd made a brick for a few minutes there. Now when i run IPCONFIG I'm now getting a different IP than the 192.168.2.1 that i used before to access the router, and now i can't get back into the router via that ip. craig_utorrent
I don't have a solution..but I thought I would tag along..because I have the same router with the same v1.50.10. same XP 2nd editionI'm getting the little red warning.I maybe have the same issue.. I receive my connection via wireless connection. I have a dish that points to a receiver that points to another receiver.. I'm in a remote part of Panama. When I ipconfig I'm told that my dns address is 64.116.183.140. However when I run the "Speed Guide" / testing if port forwarding is proper it reportsChecking port 60930 on 64.116.183.199...Error! Port 60930 does not appear to be open.that's not my "DNS" address? If I configure my network card to 64.116.183.199 I lose my connection. Can I manually configure utorrent to use 64.116.183.140 ? Switeck
DNS address is NOT your ip address.Speed guide does port checks on your internet ip address.Your computer may be seeing only its immediate LAN ip address, which is typically something like 192.168.something.something ...your internet ip address can/is something completely different than that as well!
