Huck
I'm observing a picture now - a peer that have 15 mins in inactive column and a few with a bit smaller time (5-10). Settings are default.
Firon
It's an option now, and it's turned off by default in the beta (I imagine it won't in the final). You can also change the interval. Just look in the advanced options.
Huck
It's turned ON by default and works either disregarding the interval or by some weird algorithm.
Firon
Mm, guess it was off in another beta build. Perhaps it doesn't apply when seeding. Or, it could be that it doesn't drop peers when the number of peers in the swarm is less than the maximum number of connections µTorrent can make for that torrent. I think the second is more likely
Huck
Umm... I'm downloading. Now when i have more connections i can see some logic but i can't get it.Disconnect interval = 60.I see a few peers (4-10) that overreaching 1 min of inactivity. When a peer reaches ~1.55 mins of inactivity all peers that have more than 1 min in inactive column get dropped. Firon
Might be a grace period, I don't know. How many are you connected to and how many are in the swarm? How many connections did you set per torrent?
Huck
At the moment of dropping i was connected to 30 peers. 11 peers got dropped (19 left). 44 peers total in swarm.Max number of peers per torrent set to 40.
Firon
Well, 60 seconds is a low interval, you should try raising it and restarting the torrent to see how many you stay connected to. Try 5 minutes and see how much past 5 minutes it takes to drop a peer if at all. Also, try it on a larger swarm.

I've never seen a peer that started to upload or download anything after 60 secs of inactivity. I need to test it more though.I can't qualify all this as bug. But i don't know whether it is expected behavior also.EDIT by silverfire: 1) Please do not quote posts directly before yours. 2) Please do not double post. chaosblade
How many peers on those torrents ? i believe it no longer disconnects peers on small swarms.
lament
http://s95408209.onlinehome.us/utorrent_inactive.gifthat's a 5 seed/1 peer torrent.. so maybe that's it.
Firon
If the swarm is smaller than your connections/torrent, it won't disconnect from any peers.
