jervis0 Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 i couldnt seem to get that green round icon at the bottom of my utorrent icon ever since i started using it. ive looked around and found out that it might have something to do with my firewall or a port forwarding problem so i tried to look for solutions for that. unfortunately, most solutions talk about a router or a modem, both of which i do not use to connect to the internet. im connected through a network adapter w/c is connected to this antenna w/c is also directly connected to my lan card in my laptop. i've also tried adding utorrent to my firewall restrictions and when that didnt work, i tried uninstalling my firewall (im using zonealarm free version btw). anw, nothing has helped and my down speeds havent gone anywhere above 20kB/s. could neone help, please? thanks
Ultima Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 most solutions talk about a router or a modem, both of which i do not use to connect to the internetImpossible. A modem is needed with just about any internet connection. Between your computer and the "wall," what boxes are connected?
jervis0 Posted July 2, 2007 Author Report Posted July 2, 2007 yea i've thought of that too. anw, like i said, i have an adapter and halfway through the cord is a slot for this cable that's connected to an antenna on our rooftop. the end of the adapter's cord is where it connects to my laptop's lan card.
Ultima Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 Oh, so you're using a satellite connection? If so, then there's nothing we can do about it, as users of wireless services are known to be unable to forward their ports.
Firon Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 Satellite has huge latency issues anyway. It just won't work well even if you COULD forward ports.
