Ultima
If they are contained within different subdirectories in that directory, then yeah. But I'm pretty sure that's not what you're talking about, so the answer would be "no," as both instances of µTorrent need to look at settings.dat, and you can only have one copy of settings.dat in a single directory. The same can be said about resume.dat and any other .dat file that µTorrent uses, by the way.
user
can you move this to requests then please I would like to make two or more installations in one pc/winxp and make them totally indepentedI dont want them to share settings, queue, anythingI want utorrent to be in one folder and store its settings in this folder and not in the registry, in the "my documents" in the "xp profile" folder on in any other folder than its own folderthanks
DreadWingKnight
Then put a settings.dat file in each exe folder instead of trying to rely on the external file.uT only uses the registry for .torrent associations.
user
put the settings.dat file in each exe folder? put what settings.dat file? isnt it a file that utorrent generates when it installs?if putting settings.dat inside each exe folder would make the two installations independent, why they share the queue? the queue is included in the settings.dat file?I really dont understand it at allI had installed one utorrent in my C:\ drive and then I installed another one in the D:\ driveand when I opened the second utorrent, it had the same settings and same queue loaded as the first utorrentdid I undestand something wrong or you did? 5618
Copy all files in %APPDATA%\uTorrent (Start > Run > %APPDATA%\uTorrent) and place them in the same folder as your second copy of µTorrent. It will then have the same settings as your first copy, but you can edit them independently from that moment on.
