sotusotusotu
Hi,I get great download speeds when I am using my computer. As soon as I leave my torrents downloading in the day or night, my speeds drop. I don't know how much they drop by, but it must be only to a few kb's because when I am come back on the speeds rise up again. I leave my hdd's on all the time as well.Any idea's? I have looked all over the Internet for someone with the same issue, but have not found any resolutions.Help please
5618
Maybe your computer goes into stand-by mode?Options > Preferences > Downloads > Prevent standby if there are active torrents
funchords
How do you know that they are dropping? Which speeds are dropping? UL/DL/Both?
Ultima
Can you post a screenshot of the Speed tab for when this happens? Chances are, it might be a driver/Windows issue if this really is happening, as µTorrent doesn't care whether your computer is idle or not while it's doing its thing. lezdothisthang
I've had that same problem as well a couple times. My torrent would be going at an acceptable 45 - 55 kb download when I go to sleep. When I wake up tho the torrent has made almost no progress and is at like 5 kb, until i start using the computer again (browsing, etc.) then it goes up. (not instantly back up to 45 - 55 kb, but there is a definite improvement)My speed even goes up a bit and stays there just after I get out of the screensaver after waking up. My computer stays on the entire time, none of that standby stuff or custom power configurations or anything. Weird.
Ultima
http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=260562#p260562And by the way (just curious), what do you guys have net.low_cpu set to?
lezdothisthang
Ill post up a screenshot next time it comes up. My net.low_cpu is false, and always has been i think - i've never changed any of the advanced settings.
Ultima
Alright; was just wondering if it were possible that the option (net.low_cpu) was putting the downloading at a lower priority (or causing Windows to put it at a lower priority), but I guess not.
