Airw0lf Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 I am a first time user of utorrent, and I am a bit confused to see utorrent trying to make a UDP connection to this address on startup. Does anyone know why utorrent does this? It seems to try to do this every two minutes or so. I do not have any torrent files loaded, so it should not be doing anything...Blocked: Out UDP, localhost:32459->38.114.167.69:6881, Owner: C:\PROGRAM FILES\µTORRENT\UTORRENT.EXEP.S. This has nothing to do with the update check to utorrent.com, which looks like:Blocked: Out TCP, localhost:2302->66.98.196.181:80, Owner: C:\PROGRAM FILES\µTORRENT\UTORRENT.EXEI am using v1.2 by the way.
ColdArmor Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=18237#p18237Turn DHT off & then use the search feature next time you think µT is fucking your over.
wiggo Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 That packet is the DHT function communicating with router.bittorrent.com
ColdArmor Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 UDP is supported yet...Not UDP trackers just sending out UDP connections
silverfire Posted November 19, 2005 Report Posted November 19, 2005 FYI, 38.114.167.69 is the IP address of router.bittorrent.com, which is the first stop DHT goes before it gets peers if you don't have any locally stored nodes.
