PePs1Man
The settings for this new features are too complicated and ... it seems to be somewhat "unlimited"...This should be as simple as that..If <Ping www.google.com> < 100 U.Torrent Ul.Limit += 1.0Else U.Torrent Ul.Limit -= 2.0EndIfI wish to have my Utorrent uses as much as bandwith possible without giving me crazy pings over 1k.I am probably unaware of how this feature exactly work, but I would like some help to achieve what I want. I just want to use the maximum possible without having to set a hard limit. Thanks for your helpPerhaps it could be a feature? If we can't achieve this with what we currently have.Imagine yourself playing a mmorpg, and uTorrent start to burst to test your connection speed. In my particular case, my whole party died because I had too high ping for the exact 5 sec period where utorrent used his burst. 10 people died on the ground
Firon
No, because that method is crap.
Ultima
I asked alus about this method a long time ago, and while I don't remember his exact response, he seemed indifferent about it, saying that it wasn't very effective either (or at least wasn't too different from the current implementation). At any rate, if millions of users start pinging Google for this, I wouldn't be too surprised if they just stopped responding to the pings. Making the ping occur too often would aggrevate this (even a minute would be too often, IMHO), and making it occur less often severely limits its actual utility, as it'd just mean your ping time could possibly be above whatever the threshold is for the period of time between the previous test and the upcoming test. PePs1Man
It was just an example, I would ping my Isp.Step A. Let's say, uTorrent pings the isp each 30 secs.Step B. After 300 seconds, uTorrents makes an average of the pings and make a decision.Step C. Decide if we increase speed or decrease. Go back to Step A. Ultima
I know it was an example, but it doesn't change the fact that in the time between the last and next speed adjustment, if ping goes above the threshold, it (potentially) won't adjust itself quickly enough. In short, it would potentially suffer from similar problems.
