Smoovious
that has more to do with stupid connection/upload-slot settings than limiting their uploads... if they were actually limiting to 1kB/s, they could only download at 6kB/s... Lord Alderaan
@Pixelated: idd, as long as we keep on running that show we don't have anything to fear. But if we stop... µtorrent will have opened the gates...
madhouserevival
"Member Re: uTorrent banned on several trackers!µtorrent 1.7.1 has now been banned. The new version contains a feature that sends your IP and upload/download information to the MPAA and the RIAAI think a member of those organizations posted that to scare us away from the most successful torrent client in history. Lord Alderaan
Nope it was a couple of idiots who liked to sprout technical savvy sounding stuff but actually had no idea what they were talking about.I don't know exactly how it (multicast) works but if I recall correctly someone mistook the 'destination' ips of LPD multicast packets for something controlled by the MAFIAA. Honeyfrog
If the MPAA had any brains, it'd pay less attention to bittorrent and more attention to the fact that virtually all of Latin America has embraced eMule like Elizabeth Taylor glomming a box of chocolates. madhouserevival
First of all, just because Bram Cohen has a contract for legal uploads and downloads as an entertainment service offered through his company doesn't mean he sharing our private info through Utorrent. The contract affects his business, not the client. Anyway, if you use Blocklist Manager to update the ipfilter.dat in Utorrent, you won't be getting into any trouble. And what the private trackers seem to be worried about (correct me if you run one of these sites) is that private torrents are collecting peers from outside their private website, which goes against what private trackers are for to begin with.
