Weird traffic graphs

Hi,

I have been having some issues with the speed of my downloads.

I start them and the speed is high and its all ok. But then after about 1 or 2 hours the traffic halves / quarters, for no apparent reason.

Here is a picture of the graph. Towards the last hour, it dips further, this is because I started to use the internet then, but beforehand the only thing using the internet was uTorrent.

That's normal, a torrent speed is very variable.

Without knowing what your upload speed has been doing in the same time, nor whether any torrents finished, nor what the availability of any unfinished torrents are, nor your settings, nor your ISP's rated and measured speeds...I can guess that your problem is caused by moisture in your internet wiring on the outside of your place that's causing corrosion and unreliable signal.

It also seems you use British Telecom for an ISP which is notorious as of late for throttling BitTorrent traffic like crazy during daytime hours...and even during the night in high-congestion areas. (...caused by BT putting too many people on the same shared gateway.)
