baadtypist
Is there a reason when using 1.71 that utorrent will not map the port?If I switch back to 1.61 it works just fine and speeds are good as always.Using a belkin F5D7231-4 routerbT
Ultima
A lot of modifications were made to UPnP during the development of 1.7, so some router support could possibly have been broken, since UPnP is hardly a universal standard. Is there any specific error given in the Logger tab? (You might want to enable verbose and error logging in the Logger tab's context menu)

Ultima
You had error logging enabled as well while checking the Logger, right? And um... Any reason you don't forward your port manually instead?
baadtypist
Ultima,Yes, sometimes I might get a couple hash fails on a large torrent and have seen a couple peers banned for that but it is minor. Generally have pretty good luck with my torrents. But in the short time I re ran that test on 1.71 for you it was as described above.Port rotation and it hasn't been necessary ... could try it for you if you think it would be of some help to you...but that is just bypassing the UPnP function ... not as convenient on a regular basis for me ... I actually use three different routers in different locations regularly and travel frequently so a few odd ones here and there also ... usually UPnP does not work on remote routers and often I turn UPnP off when away from my base routers. Everything usually still works though usually a little slower 20-50kB/s range...Laptop System:XPMCE SP2 all necessary updatesZonealarm 7SAV-CE 10AVG-AS 7.5This is my business machine and I do not like to mess with it more than necessary, but if I can be of help, let me know.1.61 is working fine for me, will continue on that path for now.Just wanted to let you know about the difference I encountered with 1.71.Hadn't seen it mentioned directly, but also haven't been able to take the time to read everything either. All I ask is that you folks keep utorrent light and tight if possible.ThxNo further response necessary, unless I can be of help to you...Take Care and appreciate all the hard work you all do.bT
Firon
Zone Alarm seems like a rather likely culprit. It loves to block the program when you update it (without telling you or asking). You'll likely have to remove and re-add the firewall rules for it.
baadtypist
Firon, Just checked in here and I took a look at ZA, for some reason it was set to custom under smart defense. Other settings all seem the same...3G trust, 2 green chks under both access and server. Security options same for both 1.61 and 1.71 no expert rules for either version. So I just changed the setting under smart defense to auto to see if that made any difference. It did not. Then, I stopped and removed 1.71 from ZA. I then restarted it and everything remains the same, except the trust level is currently a ? mark in ZA. Log messages are the same ...Log errors - verbose:UPnP: Could not map UPnP Port on this pass, retrying.UPnP: Could not map UPnP Port on this pass, retrying.UPnP: Could not map UPnP Port on this pass, retrying.UPnP: Unable to map port 192.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxxx with UPnP.The rest is peer traffic.Yellow Triangle ... only running a few minutes .... no dls - seeding one torrent at about 8.7kB/s and it just turned red .... after 6-7 minutes.32 seeds (25 in swarm) on torrent ... Connected to 30-37 of 195 peers (95 in swarm)..I could be wrong but it doesn't seem like it is ZA in particular, unless there is a conflict with 1.71 and ZA that doesn't affect 1.61. Has me puzzled..bT
