Bsod: Vsdata95.vxd Solution: Disable Zone Alarm

I HAD LOTS OF BLUE SCREENS (BSOD'S) UNDER WINDOWS 98 AFTER USING uTORRENT FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, MY LCD SCREEN JUST GOES BLACK WITH NO ERROR MESSAGES. I HAD TO RECONNECT MY OLD CRT TO SEE WHAT THE HECK WAS GOING ON. THAT'S WHEN I SAW THE BSOD'S.

THE ERROR WAS VSDATA95.VXD - WHICH IS PART OF ZONE ALARM (FIREWALL).

THE ONLY WAY AROUND IT THAT I COULD FIND WAS TO DISABLE (EXIT) ZONE ALARM WHICH FIXED THE PROBLEM. OF COURSE, THAT MEANS YOU'RE CONNECTED WITHOUT FIRE WALL PROTECTION, BUT I CLOSE MY BROWSER WHILE uTORRENT IS RUNNING AND HAVEN'T BEEN 'HACKED' OR ANYTHING.

NOT THE BEST SOLUTION BUT IT WORKS FOR ME.

Closing your browser doesn't stop you from getting hacked when your firewall is disabled. So basically, if your connected directly to the Internet without a router, well. Your a sitting-duck.

A hacker DOES NOT require your participation.
