beltflo Posted July 21, 2007 Report Share Posted July 21, 2007 I am a complete novice....so "Hiya " all...I am desperately trying to find a simple..straightforward answer/fix...to solve the 100s of hashfails i am getting on a particular download.I have heard of posters quoting ipfilter.dat...is it a program???do i need it to fix hashfails???....is there another reason i am getting them on this file???...will the file still play if i let it continue???....i am in the dark as to what to do...so easy step by step replys and any help would be very much appreciated..Beltflo. Switeck Posted July 22, 2007 Report Share Posted July 22, 2007 ipfilter.dat is a TEXT file...you create one in NotePad or WordPad or whatever simple word processor program floats your boat.You block the hostile ip ranges that you're always seeing hash fails from, then your hash fails will drop...slowly at first, then to almost nothing once you've blocked most/all the hostiles.
