juanymerja Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 No matter how many seeds are available for the torrent, I get this "listen error". I can't download a single bit on any try. I have changed the listen port in the uTorrent preferences menu and no success. I have a cable modem Motorola sb5100 and I heard that you don't need to make any change in the modem setting in order it to works correctly. Anyway, the modem web interface do not offer setting change option. Please help!
Ultima Posted July 22, 2007 Report Posted July 22, 2007 Listening error means another application is using the port. What ports are you trying?
juanymerja Posted July 23, 2007 Author Report Posted July 23, 2007 Ultima, thanks for your quick answer, the port I'm using is "64986". I did the test to see if the port is forwarded porperly and I got the error: port is not open. I have try so far about 30 different ports, none of them worked out.

Ultima Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 Then yeah, it's a problem with the SurfBoard. You're gonna need to buy a different modem.
Bughead Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 I am having the same problem. I just changed from DSL to Cable and have a SBV5220 Cable Modem. Should I go out and get a new modem? Is this considered a Surfboard modem? I have trouble even connecting to a source let alone anything else Thanks in advance
Ultima Posted July 30, 2007 Report Posted July 30, 2007 At this point, the only thing I can tell you is that I'm not a big fan of Motorola's modems. If connecting directly to your modem doesn't solve the problem, and you're sure you've got no firewall, or have your firewall configured properly, then yes, buying a new modem (or telling your ISP to replace it) is probably the only solution.
