MystikTK Posted July 22, 2007 Report Posted July 22, 2007 Hey, everyone, I just had a quick question. My ISP (I'm int the process of switching) seems to have a problem with router use (they see it as "stealing" if you use one), so I'm constantly getting disconnected and reconnected i.e., my connection will disconnect and then immediately try and reconnect (reconnection takes approx. 5 seconds). This will go on for anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour. What I'm wondering is if this can cause any corrpupt date issues with uTorrent? Thanks.
DreadWingKnight Posted July 22, 2007 Report Posted July 22, 2007 It won't.Data that fails hash validation will be discarded and re-downloaded automatically.
MystikTK Posted July 22, 2007 Author Report Posted July 22, 2007 Excellent. In all honesty, that's a load off my mind.Something that may be related though is that if I have a large torrent (say a discography) and I remove the torrent from the list temporarily, when I re-check it, it seems to always re-download a piece of one particular song, even though it was finsihed when i removed it. No matter how often I repeat this, it still re-downloads the same piece. Any idea what's going on there?
Firon Posted July 23, 2007 Report Posted July 23, 2007 Do you use Windows Media Player? It changes tags on files and will cause it to fail the hashcheck. In fact, you can't change the tags with any player.
MystikTK Posted July 23, 2007 Author Report Posted July 23, 2007 No, I don't. Actually, I didn't play the file(s) at all, which is why I was confused. The only thing I could ahve done with the files is to preview them in EncSpot (an encoder checker, not a media player) just to see what they were encoded with. However, AFAIK, that app doesn't change anything within the files.
