seek_&_destroy
I'm Talking about not just uTorrent speeds, but my internet transfer speed as a whole. When i run speed tests, i average 5000-5500 dl and 450-500 uploadI'm running cable (Rogers). I was wondering if there were any good, reliable guides to tweaking internet settings and such to optimize my internet?I'm running Windows XP, plenty of memory, and processing power
Switeck
Rogers Cable does HORRIBLE things to BitTorrent traffic.Your effective connection as far as µTorrent is concerned is more like 50 KiloBYTES/sec down and 5 KiloBYTES/sec up.
seek_&_destroy
Really? I've heard that too.. but for some reason I do break speeds of 300 kbps (the not bytes one) I just thought there were general ways to optimize internet speed, ie something to do with the word "latency" in google, but I don't know what to trust on a google search, so I came here. Once again it is not only bittorrent speed I'm concerned about. I'm trying to increase my general speed, whether I have to do some setting tweaks or if I need new hardware. Switeck
TCP Optimizer...google that. I think it's at www.speedguide.net or something...Just remember to NOT allow as many server connections at once as it recommends. Anything over 4 connections at once is just asking for trouble.
