Karasuhebi Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 I'm looking around in my Application Data folder and I see the following files:settings.dat.1.badsettings.dat.2.baddht.dat.oldresume.dat.oldrss.dat.oldsettings.dat.oldWhat are they and can I delete them?-KarasuhebiP.S: What is the utorrent.lng file for? Is that a language file?
schnurlos Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 *.old are bak files of *.dat (= OK)*.bad can happen on version hopping (1.7 to 1.6.1 and back to 1.7.2 f.e.) ... so no problem at alland yes: utorrent.lng is the language pack for utorrent (as described on bottom of the download page)
Karasuhebi Posted July 29, 2007 Author Report Posted July 29, 2007 What are .bad files, though? Just files that got corrupted in some way and should/can be deleted? And do you recommend deleting .old files or should I keep them since they are back-ups of the regular .dat files?-Karasuhebi
Firon Posted July 30, 2007 Report Posted July 30, 2007 .old files are automatically created as it writes the dat files. bad files can be deleted. They're either corrupt files, or dat files failing the hash verification because you temporarily switched back to 1.6.x.
Karasuhebi Posted July 30, 2007 Author Report Posted July 30, 2007 So would you recommend I keep the .old files as back-up, then?-Karasuhebi
Firon Posted July 30, 2007 Report Posted July 30, 2007 It'll remake them every single time it saves a .dat file (pretty often), so there's absolutely no point in deleting it.
Karasuhebi Posted July 30, 2007 Author Report Posted July 30, 2007 Alright, understood. Thanks for the info. Also I had another problem: For some weird reason the "Move Up" shortcut (Ctrl+Alt+Up) is not working. The "Move Down" (Ctrl+Alt+Down) shortcut is working fine, it's just the "Move Up" that doesn't work. Any ideas?-KarasuhebiP.S: Saludos desde Caguas!
