I'm using utorrent 1.6.1

I have been using utorrent for 2 years. Before I moved I had DSL and I portforwarded by accessing my DSL modem, but since I moved the only ISP provider in my area is wireless.

They did not give me a modem, all they did was put an adapter on the roof of my house.

I spoke with my ISP about portforwarding but they said they can't do it because they only have servers, (this basically means that they don't wanna do it, whatever their reason may be).

From what I understand my internet is like a VPN or Virtual Private network, it is probably kinda like the network at collages and Unis.

I can only connect to about 30-40 seeders and peers in total and I only get DHT nodes (from 44-270) when I use port 1900. I have tried many more ports from 8000 to 55000 and i get DHT 0 waiting to logon.

They said that they have the ports open but when I go to SpeedGuide and I test the port I get "Error! Port 1900 does not appear to be open." So either they aren't telling the truth or my theory is that they have the ports in stealth mode.

By the way I get a yellow triangle in utorrent.

Also when I open utorrent for the first time after I restart my computer I get nodes and connections to seeders and peers as I explained above but when I close utorrent and open it again I can't connect to any seeders and peers even if I leave utorrent open for a while. so I restart the computer and it works again, so it only works once for every restart.

Can someone help me?

thanks

There isn't much you can do about the port, as they're on the controlling end here. I tend to doubt that the provider will forward the port for you (though it's not totally impossible either, I suppose).
