Banning or locking IP's

Is there some way to tell if someone is sharing files they are downloading from you. and if there is and they are not sharing is their a way to ban them or block them somehow?

There is no way to tell if a given peer is or is not sharing.

Just because they're not sharing to you, it doesn't mean they're not sharing at all.

Blocking a peer because it's not sharing to you doesn't actually help anyone.

I think don't be too tough.

Sometimes you will see some peer just uploading nothing or only 1kb/s,

but it doesn't mean they are restricted the upload.

Be reminded that there will be tens or hundreds of peers connecting to each peer,

it is a circle game, and everybody on the queue.

Just because they're not uploading to you, it doesn't mean they aren't uploading at all.

Blocking them because they don't upload to you will just slow everyone down in the grand scheme of things.

Thank you for your responses that was the idea of this post to understand it better. should i or shouldnt i block or ban someone who never shares that kinda thing. Is there anytime that maybe u should check on the ip's downloading from you. i mean maybe like someone using all your upload speed and keep others from getting files. anything like that i should watch out for plz post them so being a noob i can watch for it.

There is no mechanism to check on wether an individual peer is uploading or not. And again, just because they aren't uploading to you, it doesn't mean they're not uploading at all.

But if you're on a 1+ GB torrent with single-digit peers and you're connected to all of them and one never shares anything with you...then it either has LESS than you or it may not be sharing with anyone at all. You can tell with some effort if it has something it COULD share to you in the Peers window.
