hi all,

i have two pc, each one connected to internet using mobile phone, very low speed. to double the speed i plan to download the same torrent file using two pc and share the file thru my home network using wi-fi. but i don't know how to configure this, i am newbie in networking.

thanks

thanks for reply. my problem is my internet connection bandwith limited to 8 KB/s donwload. if i can use my brother internet to download same torrent file and also share the file via wi-fi simultanously i can double the speed to 16 KB/s. is that possible? i tried to connect both pc without router(ad-hoc) and both torrent client can share the file via wi-fi, but it will stop when both pc connected to internet. it will continue to seed via wi-fi if either one of pc disconnected from internet.

Its pretty much imposible to do. Best is to run a different torrent on each PC connected to their own internet connection each. When its finished you can copy whatever your brothers box has downloaded to your box.

yes it can work guys :D

after i put the protocol encryption to "disabled" on both torrent client they can continue to share the files using lan while downloading from their own internet connection. its gain my dl/ul speed, specially for large file because they dl different pieces number and then share it using lan. only a few times they dl the same pieces number. i watch it for 2 hours and didn't check it yet for small file.

the only one problem is both torrent client can not keep connected after they have the same amount of files. after a few minutes they will disconnected. so i have to add peer manually or disconnect either one internet connection to make them connected. after succesful connection they will start to seed each other using lan connection.

is there any way to keep them always connected?

thanks in advance for any suggestion.

Oh, sounds like you need to set peer.disconnect_inactive to false or increase the peer.disconnect_inactive_interval to longer than it takes for each computer to get another piece to share to the other.

Early on, on a big torrent, there's probably not lots of duplication...but after 80%, you'll see more and more duplication.
