bear4 Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 Hello,I'm a newbie if you haven't guessed already. My OS is Windows XP sp2 and I have a 2wire router. Everything seems ok; the port is open, I have a green check mark, I tested my down and upload speeds and entered their values. However, every time I try to download a torrent it starts briefly but then I get the red down arrow at around 0.3% and soon after it just stops. What am I doing wrong? Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated.
µtorrent-Guest Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 what is the error message in "Tracker Status:" then?
bear4 Posted August 7, 2007 Author Report Posted August 7, 2007 The error message reads "The device is not ready." But , like I said, I followed all the instructions, added utorrent to my firewall exceptions, ran the speed tests, took care of the router business and all that. I still even have my green check and my port is open but there doesn't seem to be anything incoming. B4And don't worry about the english. Ich liebe Deutschland. (My last name ends with an -ich.)
µtorrent-Guest Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 Hmm, sounds like an error with your storage system and not with the tracker itself.try saving the content you wish to download in the system disk, and choose a path that is close to the root directory.
slipstream Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 The error message reads "The device is not ready."Which means you have problems with the drive the files are downloaded to.http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=14018
bear4 Posted August 9, 2007 Author Report Posted August 9, 2007 That did the trick. Thank you both for your time and expertise. Beast Peace. B4
