Issue with 1.61

My uTorrent has been working fine, but all of a sudden it wouldn't load when I last rebooted--it acted like it loaded, but nothing. So I tried again and it gave me the "utorrent.exe is already running, but not responding" but nothing in the Applications under task manager. I tried to end the process of it, but it wouldn't end... I've tried rebooting, deleting the exe and redownloading. It works in safe mode, but not under normal. I have absolutely no idea what happened. Like I said, it's worked wonderfully until just a few minutes ago. (I have Vista, which has never been an issue and I need to stick with 1.61.)

EDIT: 1.7.2 won't work neither. This is weird.

Is it showing up in your processes list?

Yes, and when I try to end it... it doesn't do it. Sometimes I get the "cannot end process" window, but other times it just stays there. I have to reboot to end it.

Like I said, it loads completely in Safe Mode... so something is conflicting, but I haven't recently installed anything. I've run a virus check and nothing was found.

Did you check msconfig to see if it's trying to load on startup?

Just looked to be sure, it's not. It's not in the process list when the computer starts--only after I double click the shortcut (or .exe, I've tried both.)

EDIT: To add, the last thing I did when it was working was checking "random port each time uTorrent starts." When I closed it and rebooted later, is when it wasn't working. ZoneAlarm does ask me if uTorrent can be used as a server hwen it attempts to load (I turned AutoAccepting it off to see if it asked), but then it does nothing. And I've tried it with ZoneAlarm off (it's never had any issues with it, but it was worth a shot.)

EDIT2: Fixed. Apparently my computer didn't like random port being checked. Last ditch effort in Safe MOde was to mess with the porn and put it back to one I used before and that fixed it. Thanks for the help.
