cwktjes
So yes. There have been many people who can't seem to forward ports with Utorrent. I won't bore everybody with the same screencaps of correct setting you have probably seen so many times. Yes, I followed every step and yes uTorrent still says the port is not forwarded correctly. I'v read countless posts on different forums on this problem and one person said that even the uTorrent developers don't know why this problem occurs. How true is this? If it can't be helped I'll stop making an effort and bravely swallow my frustrations, but if there is any news on this matter I would gladly hear so. Switeck
If your ISP is wireless or satellite, then chances are you will ALWAYS be firewalled. (The problem in that case is the ISP, not you.)You may foreward your router perfectly correct...but if your modem also contains a mini-router and/or firewall, then you'll still be firewalled in µTorrent....Or your Antivirus/antispyware has a hidden software firewall in them as well that needs to be configured or disabled....And of course even some viruses and trojans can make you firewalled. It only takes ONE thing to make you firewalled, but you have to fix everything (assuming there's more than 1 problem) to NOT be firewalled. cwktjes
Actually I managed to solve this. As it turnes out, you were right. There was a second firewall in my modem. Luckily the Tiscali forum had the solution. I'll post the link here, but maybe you could post it in a general topic for these problems so that other (Dutch) UTorrent users can benefit from it aswell. So this is for the ZyXEL P-2602H-D1A modem.http://forum.tiscali.nl/viewtopic.php?t=3901This is in Dutch mind you, but it should be understandable because of the many English terms. Switeck
Trying to get a green light in µTorrent...is like putting a welcome mat down in front of your castle door, ...but forgetting about the drawbridge up (over a moat filled with crocodiles), guarded by machine gun pillboxes, and the whole area surrounded by a minefield. You have to do a lot to make incoming packets feel welcome. ...and not totally remove your safety at the same time!
